 FAQs

  • Although price may be nerve racking initially, it is important to remember that this is a temporary investment that can help you significantly in the long run. Think about how much money we spend on material or superficial things that only offer temporary relief. Therapy is an investment in improving your mental health and relationships for the rest of your life. You also have the right to terminate counseling at any time, so you’ll never be surprised by a hefty bill.

  • There are multiple options to schedule with us. The first is to email: hello@thrivemfc.com You can also submit a form (located at the bottom of multiple of our pages) to request services and give information about what you are looking for for counseling services. You can also call our main line number 970-812-1292. Our assistant will return your inquiry within 24-48 business hours.

  • None of the therapists at Thrive Marriage & Family Counseling are in-network with any insurances.

We cannot accept Medicaid clients. You can use the Rocky Mountain Health Plans website to explore therapists who accept Medicaid or go to psychologytoday.com and use their filter system to find the best match for you. You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care [and mental health services] will cost

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees. Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call the Colorado Division of Insurance at 303-894-7490 or 1-800-930-3745.

  • The rate for therapy varies depending on the therapists experience and speciality. Please feel free to submit a form or contact us directly and we can discuss rates with you at that time depending on which therapist you would like to see and what kind of therapy you are looking for.

  • At Thrive Marriage & Family Counseling we aim to be our genuine selves to provide a non-judgmental and safe place for you to be able to explore the things in your life that you find the most challenging. Each therapist has their own approach but at the heart of it we want to be able to connect with you to help you live a healthier and more satisfying life.

During the first session you and your therapist will have a chance to introduce yourselves. The therapist will then explore your goals for counseling, what your expectations are, and ask questions in order to get to know your situation and life a little better.

Toward the end of the session you will then talk about how to move forward with counseling, deciding how often you will come in and consider flexible scheduling or a set time that you will come in.

  • We can’t speak for all therapists, but this is something we make the most effort with being open to clients about. It’s important for us to bring our authentic selves into sessions, and we collaborate with you on what feels helpful, instead of just giving you our two-cents. Our “opinions” are used as interventions, but we make sure we are open about our intent and process it with you. It has also been in our experience that the word and expectation of “change” is very impactful. If “changing” is not your goal, we do not expect that. We focus more on improving your quality of life and most often that means exposing more of the real you instead of changing the real you.

  • Well, to be fair, sometimes therapy doesn’t work. Sometimes therapy doesn’t work if your expectations of the process are misguided. There is also truth to therapy not working if you don’t trust/like your therapist or you aren’t ready. Therapy does work when your expectations of the process are loose, when you are ready to confront tough feelings and behaviors with humility, and when you allow yourself to trust the therapist/process.
